Subscription FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our subscription plans and credits system.

How do credits work?
Credits are used for research and AI actions in Spine. Generating a new report or refining existing ones consumes credits based on complexity. For example, editing a single section costs fewer credits than creating a brand-new full report.
Will I know how many credits an action uses before I do it?
Yes. Spine displays the credit cost before you commit. You can also track your available credits anytime in the "Credits" section of the side navigation.
How many credits do different actions use?
  • Initial report: 5 credits (up to 20 sections)
  • AI-only actions: 1 credit per section (ideal for rewriting, reformatting, or example generation)
  • Research actions: 3 credits per section (for finding new info across the web and your documents)
What is a section?
A section is a logical chunk of text, similar to a paragraph. Reports are broken into these manageable & intelligent sections for easier processing & higher quality refined research.
What happens if I run out of credits?
You can upgrade your plan from the Credits menu or wait until your credits reset at the start of your next billing month.
Do monthly credits roll over if I don't use them?
No, credits reset every month when your subscription renews.
Can I change my plan?
Yes. Go to the Credits page to upgrade or downgrade. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades apply from your next billing cycle. For help, contact support@getspine.ai.
